Jerry Coussens

Jerry was born in 1956 in Davenport, Iowa. He was raised on a family farm in New Liberty, Iowa with ten brothers and sisters. He graduated from Bennett High School and attended Iowa State University in the field of farm operation. In 1979, he married Julie Cummings also of Davenport. They have four children; Seth, Gabe, Tyson and Ella. In addition to farming, he worked as a laborer in the construction industry and read many books about carpentry. In 1987, Jerry started “Coussens Construction.” He incorporated and changed the business name to J.D Coussens, Inc. in 1990.



Over 30 years in construction business, Certified Remodeler from the National Association of Remodeling Industry (NARI), Graduate of the Dale Carnegie Course, Member of Remodelers Advantage Roundtables,  Past President and Boardmember Quad City Home Builders And Remodelers QCBR (voted 2009 QCBR Remodeler of the Year), member QCBR Remodelers Council, Certified Green Professional and Lead Safe Renovator



Secretary of NARI, Vice President of NARI, Member of NAHB Remodelers Council, Davenport Chamber of Commerce, Scott county YMCA, President of Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA).



Jerry enjoys building fast airplanes, flying airplanes, snow skiing and traveling.
